Why Weapons?

Y9 Safety

Crime Prevention Education

Using a variety of activities and stimuli, including a short film footage, pupils learn to understand the risks and consequences of carrying weapons. The lesson also seeks to raise awareness of risk situations and potential dangers that young people may face in their everyday lives whenever they are around weapons, to understand the law regarding weapons (especially knives and guns) in public places, on school premises and the police response and to consider what constitutes a legal and illegal weapon and the consequences of carrying such weapons.
